Activate Block Enhancements and its tools apply to every post and page you edit. There’s no settings screen of its own: each block’s options sit in the editor sidebar.

Its pickers list your MD icons and popups, and its blocks use your MD palette, so they fit in with the rest of your site.

Only Offer What Your Pages Show

With Advanced block styling on, Block Enhancements hides the editor controls and blocks your pages won’t display.

Advanced block styling is a Marketers Delight setting that replaces WordPress’s block CSS, global styles and layout engine for leaner pages. Block Enhancements follows it in the editor, so you don’t reach for a control or block that won’t render on your site.

Find the setting under Appearance → Edit Theme → Settings, in Optimize WP.

  • Layout controls that WordPress layouts would handle are turned off
  • Blocks MD doesn’t style, such as Cover, Media & Text, Gallery and Query Loop, leave the inserter
  • The Group block’s Row, Stack and Grid variations are removed

Editor Tools

Small additions that make core blocks more useful on an MD site.

Sideways scrollers

Add the scroller-nav class to a Group block and its items scroll sideways, with arrow buttons to move through them.

Your icons and popups in the pickers

Icon pickers list your site’s MD icons, including icons you upload on MD’s Icons screen. Button settings list your MD Optins popups when the Optins Drop-in is active.

MD’s Classic Blocks

The boxes Marketers Delight sites have used for years, as blocks built on your palette, icons and buttons.

Callout

A highlighted box with an icon or image, a title, text, a bullet list and a button. Color each part from your palette, add a background image with an overlay, and set its alignment, margin and padding. On a dark background, its text turns light automatically.

Content Upgrade

An offer banner with an icon, a title, an optional description and up to two buttons in Secondary, Outline or Arrow styles. In a narrow space, two buttons move under the text and span its width.

Arrow

A centered down arrow that invites readers to keep scrolling past the end of a section.

Optins

Callout and Content Upgrade buttons can open your popups, and Optins adds its own Email Form block.

Adds the MD Share Notice block, a quote readers can share in one click.

Does Marketers Delight style the block editor without this Drop-in?

Yes. Marketers Delight styles the block editor to match your site on its own. Block Enhancements adds blocks and editor tools on top of that.

What does Block Enhancements change when Advanced block styling is on?

It turns off layout controls, hides blocks MD doesn’t style, and removes the Group block’s Row, Stack and Grid variations. The blocks and scroller nav work whether the setting is on or off.

Where do I find the blocks?

In the block inserter, under Marketers Delight. Search for “MD” to see them all.

Do buttons need the Optins Drop-in?

Only to open popups. Buttons can always link to a URL.
