Child Theme
A Child Theme is a custom theme you add to your site that houses all of your custom code changes to the main Theme. In this case, Marketers Delight is your Parent Theme and gives you the ability to install a Child Theme and keep your custom HTML, CSS, and PHP changes separate.
The reason you want to keep your code separate is because any time the MD Parent Theme gets a new version release, it will erase any changes you made within the theme. Therefore, it is recommended you make any changes to MD’s default styling or functionality through the Child Theme.
