Page Covers
Covers That Make a First Impression
Give any page, post, or archive a cover image behind its title. Text color adjusts to the image, and you can set it once for a whole post type.

The problem
A Great Cover Image Usually Costs You a Page Builder
A strong cover usually means a builder plugin, a custom template, or per-page work that nobody repeats on the next post.
Without Md
- A page builder just for a cover image
- Title text you can’t read on a busy photo
- A cover set up by hand on each page
- A logo that vanishes over a dark image
With Page Covers
- One upload for a cover on any page
- Light or dark text chosen for you
- Apply to all Posts, a category, or one page
- A second logo for covers behind the header
How it works
Three Steps to a Cover
Choose a style, upload an image, then choose where it applies.

Choose a style
Pick Headline Cover, Header Cover, or Full Header Cover.

Upload and tint
Add an image and set an overlay color, or remove the overlay.

Choose where it applies
Use it on one page, a category, or all Posts at once.

Three Ways to Wear a Cover
A Headline Cover sits behind the page title. A Full Header Cover goes behind a transparent header, for a cover that fills the top of the page.
- Headline Cover behind the title
- Header Cover and Full Header Cover
- Do not use a cover where you don’t want one

Readability
Light or Dark Text, Picked for You
MD checks the cover and picks light or dark text. You can set an overlay color to tone down a busy photo, or force dark text.
- Automatic light or dark text
- Overlay color, or no overlay
- Repeat the background for patterns

Reach
One Cover, Many Pages
Set a cover for all Posts, a category, or one page. Archives, categories, and author pages can have covers too.
- Post type, category, and single page levels
- Archives and author pages included
- Show the excerpt under the title

Questions
Questions, Answered
The things people ask most about Page Covers. Still curious? Read the docs.
Will the title stay readable on a dark image?
MD checks the cover and picks light or dark text for you. You can also force dark text, set an overlay color, or remove the overlay.
Can I use the same cover on every post?
Yes. Check Apply to all Posts in the post type’s cover settings, then override it on any category or single post.
What does Full Header Cover do?
It places a transparent header over the cover, so the image fills the top of the page. You can also set a second logo for it, so your logo stays visible on the image.
Do archives and author pages get covers too?
Yes. You can set a cover for a post type’s archive, a category, or author pages, the same way you would for a page.
