Add MD blocks to the editor

Marketers Delight styles the block editor to match your site on its own. Block Enhancements adds to it: three blocks built on your palette colors, icons, spacing and buttons, plus a few editor tools.

Before you start

Insert a block

Open any post or page in the block editor, open the block inserter, and search for "MD". The blocks are listed under Marketers Delight. There is no settings screen: each block is set up in its sidebar after you insert it.

MD Callout

A highlighted box with an icon or image, title, text, bullet list and a button. Use it to draw attention to an important note, resource or offer.

In the block's sidebar:

  • Set the background, border, text, icon and button colors from your MD palette or any custom color.
  • Optionally add a background image, then pick its overlay color, the overlay's strength and the image position.
  • Set the alignment, bottom margin, and padding from None to Triple.

If you leave the text color empty on a dark background, the Callout uses light text automatically.

MD Content Upgrade

An offer banner with an icon, title, optional description and up to two buttons, such as "Download now" and "Learn more". Use it to promote a resource inline in a post.

In the block's sidebar:

  • Set the banner, border, text, icon and button colors.
  • Choose a style for each button: Secondary, Outline or Arrow.
  • Set the title size with the editor's Font Size control.

With two buttons in a narrow space, the buttons move under the text and span its width.

Buttons in both blocks link to a URL, optionally opened in a new tab. If the Optins Drop-in has popups, a button can open a popup instead. A button doesn't appear on the page until it has a link.

MD Arrow

A centered down arrow that invites readers to keep scrolling. Add it at the end of a full-height section to show that more content follows.

More editor tools

  • Scroller nav: add the scroller-nav class to a Group block to make its items scroll sideways with arrow buttons.
  • Plain pullquotes: the core Pullquote block has a Plain style.
  • Your icons: the icon picker lists your site's MD icons, including icons you upload on MD's Icons screen.
  • Matching editor: when MD's Advanced block styling setting is on, the editor hides layout controls and blocks MD doesn't style, so it only offers what your site shows.

Check the result

Save the post and view it on the front end. Each block should use your site's colors and typography. If a block's colors differ from what you set in the sidebar, check whether the color field is set to a palette color or a custom hex value. If you use a caching plugin, clear its cache and reload.
